Young people are at the heart of Bowie’s House.

THE NEXT GENERATION

Inspired by the ‘Beckenham Arts Lab’ Bowie himself founded with his friends in 1969, the house offers the chance for local school children to co-curate the project, helping shape how future visitors experience the house.

“Creativity grows when everyone has a part to play.”

There have been song-writing sessions, skills training and creative workshops, design work and ceramics, even tea chest basses and home-made guitars - musical instruments inspired by Bowie’s early experiments. We’ve been moved by children’s passion to embrace community, collaboration and artistry, building on Bowie’s legacy. We’re excited for what’s to come.

Creativity grows when everyone has a part to play.
